I will add this to one of my favorite elephant image that i have come across in recent past. Few days back i bumped into a elephant eye perspective on one of the nature photography forums and now the tusk perspective. There is so much of presentation that is still left uncovered apart from the usual portraits of all the mammals and birds in nature. Lovely one Praveen.

When I see this image, it's exactly the same thoughts that originated in my mind as well, as that of Shiva's words. Emphasis on tusks using selective focus is what makes the image.

Brilliant execution! I just love the texture of the tusk and the skin here. Even though its a very tight frame, I am for some reason, not feeling claustrophobic here, may be its because you have avoided including the eye. In fact, I have always believed that the eye of the subject is something that HAS to be always present in the frame to bring the picture to life and to give it some identity. But you have shown me that I was wrong. I would never even have conceived of a shot like this before, but after I saw this and another great tight eyeless Elephant image by Vijay Cavale, I am thinking.... Oh, how I love this constant learning process, and its such a privilege to express my views on such path breaking images
