Dews - A different perspective
Dew drops on a spider web is not new. Most naturephotography books with a section of macro photography will have perfect image of dew drops on a web. During one last winter morning when I saw this dew laced web I tried to do something different. When I was looking through the view finder I felt choosing right DOF to keep only part of it in focus and rest blurred can create a different perspective which resulted in this image. Love to know your views! Thanks in advance...

This is certainly unique although the subject is not. The rightful play with DOF has clearly come out with something special and must say you are the master of the craft of seeing. Amazing technique in composition and the placement of OOF elements.

Nice idea. Agree with what u said about usual web + dew images.

In this image, I liked the amount of DOF & OOF in the frame. But 2 things that i'm kept wanting for:
1) With regards to its composition, I wish the string of dew drops + web was slightly more towards the bottom of the frame. In other words, cropping off a little space in the bottom + providing the same space on top.
2) There's this *vertical* line - a strong line of interest containing the in-focus *large* dew drops (near the left thirds' line of the frame). If u notice carefully, as ur eyes move from top of that line to bottom, this line weakens (i mean lacking sharpness) because focus plane is shifting away from u. Wish u were parallel to this line thereby keeping the whole vertical line of beads in complete in focus.

Just a thought...
I understand that ur shooting conditions might not have been conducive (wind etc.,). Nevertheless, a very unique image.

Ganesh, Very classy image here. Placement of DoF, pattern, sky BG is vey appropriate to make this image attractive.
