Dance in the Sky
I realized I have not processed some of my earlier Daroji images. Spent some time today on some of those.
I felt the pattern of stones, peafowls and cloud provided a nice opportunity to make an image like this. While processing I decided to convert the image to grey levels since I thought elimination of color will strenghthen the patterns, drama and mood that we see here. Love to know your views nevertheless...

In a related note if you want to share your views on what makes an image moody you can share them here in this thread.

Ganesh,

I had two thoughts:

1. I would have loved peafowl no1 to be in a walking posture rather than a feeding one - that would have made this image depict the crossing

2. The rock on the right hand side could have had more breathing space.

Everything else about the image is just great.

Ravi

I wouldn't really agree with Ravi, actually. If we look carefully, the peacocks are progressively bending down from left to right. The one on extreme left standing erect and the one on extreme right bent down to the ground. This, to me, has a very appealing effect in terms of composition. It almost looks like it's the same bird which has been captured in various poses in a continuous shutter mode. :-) Beautiful image, is the least one can say! And I really liked the monochrome treatment! Has worked perfectly for the image!

A very beautiful image Ganesh. The decision of going with grey really worked out here. This image also gives the feeling that it was an image created by combining 4 different images of the same bird photographed at different intervals! :) The grey clouds at the top are really adding to the mood.
