Philautus Leucorhinus
Another image of a frog I made at night at Katthalekana. I think the relative size of the frog to darkness helps convey some night mood here. Would love to know your thoughts. Not much processing on this one. The unprocessed image is here..

excellent composition.....very creative way of using available light source...the feel of night is fully present in the image...."searching for light in darkness"

Absolutely stunning image Ganesh. Using the positive space for the darkness of rain forests of WG is beautifully done here. Love the angle of light and position of the frog in the frame. This image makes me think of godly creations of these beautiful ( and rapidly vanishing :( ) amphibians. Its just so mesmerizing to see how their complex eyes are developed to see in such PITCH darkness. Hats off to your effort in making this image!

Image of the dark. Fine example in depicting darkness with rare living creature. Great work !

Lovely image - very carefully exposed. It surely gives the 'night' feel.
Have u tried rotating the image CW to orient (keeping its position in the frame as it is now) the frog in such a way that it is looking a bit upwards...?

Thanks Kaushik ! May be you are right - a degree or two CW rotation may add to the posture and image.

Well, came back to see this image again :)
Lovely image Ganesh, the more I see it, the more I like it.
I even liked the partially lit leaf (the one in front of the frog) too. There's just sufficient light on it to give the viewer an idea that there's more things (creating mystery) present around the area - creating a forest feel, night's eeriness.
