Beautifully made image Ganesh... Land snails are active during rains only.. For me, this image signifies snail and monsoon. I think slight burning of shell and brach might make this image better. Converting into B&W might give a monsson look to the image. Its just my thought.

very intelligent way of using external light source and exposure.....i think keeping only the sky as bg would have given a different dimension to the image.....i did see one such image in ur site...that image broke the idea about perspective....

Thanks Arvind for the suggestion. While clouds will pop in B&W I thought shell and branch may get affected. Let me try that however and see..
Praveen, I badly wanted to exclude the moutain but then it was in such a odd position getting the pleasing composition was very tough..

I just went through your blog on the butterfly on the flower and the various light sources and how they impact the images, this snail one is also true of how different light sources on a same subject will have a different bearing on the outcomes, this one really stands out for its high flash output.

I never use flash on my images, that is until now. Shall experiment and put my learning to use some time. Thanks again for opening a whole new world to me. This image makes me want to believe the snail is holding on tight to the tree to over come the looming storm in the BG. Brilliant!

Ganesh, this image is very interesting, but I'm not sure if the lighting works. I'd go with Aravind's suggestion and burn the trunk and snail a bit.
