History
We noticed this strange thing on a dry branch - lots of dead locusts still holding firmly onto this branch ! There was live one nearby. Not sure what might have caused their death in this posture, thats all may be a history now. First I was not sure whether this makes a subject to photograph, later I felt it makes a stronger subject. Love to know your thoughts..

Lot of mysteries all around us. Only thing we need is an inquisitive eye. Lovely spotting sir.

Liked the diagonal placement of the subject here.
Cud it be possible that this is the way these critters die after reproducing/laying eggs...? I have no idea. But they look beautiful even when dead...
Wish (very minor) the green BG was uniform instead of a dark patch in the middle.

amazing sharpness, details and wonderful composition, ganeshji. as the death is mysterious, i would have preferred little play of light 'n shadows to add some more mystery to the feel of the shot.

regards.

Wonderful composition and eye you have Ganesh. The death is conveyed here in the form of those silk threads of spider, indicating the mummification of these grasshoppers. Indeed they are history by mummification, but you made them immortal!

Thanks Gururaj - you made me read about the new word (for me) - mummification - seem to have lots of Egyptian history behind it..
