Not just another night in the forest
I made this image during this May with my dear friend and fellow CNPian Sudarshan Bharadwaj.

I had to struggle a lot both on the field and during the processing to bring out the night mood that we witnessed that night.
The night was just magical with fireflies switching on and off their lights. The night before the moonrise was pitch dark and it was like a fairyland. Though there were not many fireflies as seen in this image ( because of the slow shutter) the serendipitous appearance of light is something one has to experience.

I have tried my level best to bring out the night mood , but the possibilities there are endless and hope to do better next year.

Thanks a lot Sudarshan for the company and help.

As always waiting for your views.

This is magical, to say the least. The image transports me to the location itself, a fairyland indeed. The colors reminds me of van Gogh's The_Starry_Night ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Starry_Night ) .

Kudos on your effort to bringing this experience to us all. This easily is one of the best I have seen here. Hope to experience this in person one day

Thanks for sharing.

Super image Adithya. Well handled exposure, loved the rich dark tones yet i can see some fine details. Well done. I get the same feeling as staring the vast infinite night sky, how remarkable. Perhaps, for better visual experience if size of those fire balls were similar to static ones, it would have been fantastic. I know how hard that is to pull off..

I liked everything about this image except that you did not inform us. You can correct that mistake next year :)

The faint tree line and the magical Blue-green combination is magical. Yes natures " starry night" . Just watching this will send one into a trance I think , when one comes to senses they can take a few pictures :)

Excellent image Adithya! Love the eeriness in the image. Faint light on the background foliage gives a different dimension to the entire frame.
