Wow ! This is such a unique perspective of Water Strider ! It looks like a mask at first glance, I hurt my neck trying to see it horizontal :-D

Thanks @Vikas ! This is a 2 image ICDE. I exposed the water stream in which this bush was growing with a cooler temperature in the second exposure.

Thanks a lott @Sree and @Nevil, This was something different for me. I normally tend to create simple minimalist images, but this image had a lot of components in it. Thanks for appreciating that !

Thanks @Nevil ! I was experimenting with directional light by a flash on this. Did not increase the contrast in post processing. Your choice and the reason behind it (shadows) is very interesting. I would love to see the resultant images. I feel the choice is always associated with our previous work. Usually we have some images made in that time frame which are close to our heart !

Very well done Sitaram ! the absence of light on the bat's face adds to the mystery of this image. A little wider perspective would have added to the image in my opinion. Also filling in the negative space on extreme right with some light could work in favor I assume ! These are just my assumptions and I am sure you must have more good shots of this experiment. Nevertheless, I love your style and this image equally !

@Prashanth thanks a lot ! by a larger image do you mean in print ? Yes the previous image is visually very different and therefore does not interfere with the interpretation of this image ! @Sree Thanks a lot ! I am the happiest person to be able to stimulate your minds ! The description suggested by you, made me search the internet for similar images and I found one very similar image of Stonehenge. It is strikingly similar to this image even though they are completely different things. I am unable to find how to attach images to comments so just pasting this link. https://in.pinterest.com/pin/1372197384 ... =530&h=351

An amazing monochrome masterpiece ! The dark and mysterious feel makes me relate them to "Dementors" from the Harry Potter movies. https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Dementor" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Now as find this link to post an image of Dementors, I am assured it is nothing else but them ! You need to be cautious Ganesh because the description of Dementors is terrifying "Dementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. They infest the darkest, filthiest places, they glory in decay and despair, they drain peace, hope, and happiness out of the air around them... Get too near a Dementor and every good feeling, every happy memory will be sucked out of you. If it can, the Dementor will feed on you long enough to reduce you to something like itself... soulless and evil. You will be left with nothing but the worst experiences of your life." —Remus Lupin's description of Dementors

Thanks a lott @Ganesh to put so much effort and understanding in your comment. I read this comment 5 times from yesterday but I still feel I have not completely grasped the essence of it. Maybe at my age, I am not even close to that intellectual level and have seen far less of the world (Natural as well as material) to be able to digest all the knowledge and thoughts that you have shared. I will start with your images which you shared, All those 4 images have an extraordinary sense of interpretation. I had seen those images before and they were responsible to some extent to bring into me this thought of giving a different visual feel to an image and seeing it as something else. "The art of seeing" was a very distant concept to many of us, as it was to you in our starting days. Fortunately, this forum was available for us to develop our vision by seeing work from some amazingly talented photographers here. Me and my friends have had countless discussions on how CNP has helped in developing a sense of looking at the world from a different, unique perspective. There is no doubt that everyone brings in something unique in making a photograph as well as seeing a photograph. Something which I see may or may not be visible to someone else. This may be a cliché quote but as Ansel Adams said, You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved. Since we all have had different upbringing, belong to different places, heard different music and loved different people, our visual understanding of a photograph, as well as the makeup of our mind while making an image will be very different I assume. Still, how beautiful it is that on this forum, we have been like a very close knit group of like minded people who have reached to a point where the wavelengths of our mind are close to each other. As you said, doubting Darwin's theory should not be confused with endorsing creationism, I never have gave it a hard thought but I realize that in today's world, people have a very hard and fast rule about choosing sides. No one has the time to think neutrally. It is a propagated thought that if you do not belong to one side (eg. Darwinism) you must represent the opposite one (Creationism). I myself feel that there is a long space between the two. I feel I am happy in my neutral space, not endorsing any of the sides until and unless I get really thoughtful of that, and even If I choose one side, I will keep it to myself and not shove it in other minds against their will. [b:35otqaxo]"If I were given one thousand years to live I might have looked at all of Picasso's modern art paintings. Since that is not the case, personally I believe my rest of the life is better spent experiencing the magic of Nature revealed through images like these. I know it may be a controversial personal opinion, however, I don't mind confidently sharing."[/b:35otqaxo] This sentence you wrote is the highlight of everything I have seen and done as a photographer as of now. I cannot explain in words, how your comments, suggestions, viewpoints and explanations help each and everyone of us to broaden our vision and multiply our understanding. I am writing this on behalf of every individual that you have helped and nurtured ! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that you have done. This Forum has changed lives of many people and those people are in turn changing the world. I hope we bring in enough good images to satisfy our hunger of seeing the magic of nature unveil. Last but not the least, your article of "Nature" in "Nature Photography" is immensely thought provoking even though I have read it only a couple of times. I am planning to read it more in coming days. Thanks for your kind words and when you say that I improvised as a photographer from the previous image, it means a lot to me ! I hope I will be able to bring in more unique images and be able to see nature differently as an art form and not as a science entity as we are nurtured to see. I wanted to write and convey a lot of thoughts, but somehow my mind feels blank right now.

Thanks a lot @Karthik and @Nevil ! The colors are indeed due to the light fired. I got a second chance to shoot this fungi a couple of days ago and composed a few frames with only the spores visible like Ganesh and Karthik suggested. Will post them in coming days. Thanks for your views and critique !

Beautifully made image Shabeer ! The algae looks like a blanket ! Just curious if it would have added to take the Frog's image from front side, which would have allowed both the eyes to be visible and in Focus. Nevertheless, this image is very pleasing ! Well done.

@Ganesh, thanks for your views and suggestion regarding the compositional aspect. I will definitely get a chance to shoot this again, I just hope that the fungi is still releasing spores in that quantity. I will sure try to implement what you suggested. The current composition was made taking into account the subtle presence of the fungi thus showing the origin of colors and the backlit making sure it is not obvious that its a fungi. It would also be interesting to know what others think can be improved in this image since the end of monsoon is nearing and I may not get a 3rd chance to make this image better. Thanks in advance for your suggestions !
