Interesting how "body parts!!" of a flower still evoke positive feelings ? Are we hard wired to believe all non moving ( for want of better definition ) living things feel no physical pain / emotion etc so we have none of the revulsion reserved for "body parts " of mammals, insects and birds etc Thoughts ?

Done many times before but this one still has some special quality to it. The soft light and the various shapes and patterns make it a pleasing study

I like the intense feeling. IMHO BnW will allow for a bit more tone management to enhance the character of the image. As is also the muted low value colors have created that sense of deep dark forest

Thanks Shankar that is the exact feeling I wanted to evoke as a Déjà vu state of mind. You are experiencing something it evokes a memory and you are torn between believing and not believing/ Rejecting what you are experiencing . So your sense of "Dislike" is a positive result !!!! :) I also liked to think how the folded petals seems to resemble those folds in the brain where all the make believe occurs. Sorry poetic self like :))

Thanks Ganesh for the kind words. Your thoughts and inputs were very useful. Let me make some more progress and we can do some of your images in Gum. Very much on the path to make 8X10 images at least. At best 10 X12

Sure Ganesh. I am always wary of technical details on CNP and so mostly stay with outcome related :) I started writing then realized why reinvent so put the question to ChatGPT ha ha ha . My comments in brackets ! How are Gum Bichromate prints made ? Gum bichromate printing is a historic photographic printing process that involves using light-sensitive dichromated gum arabic to create an image. Here are the basic steps involved in making a gum bichromate print: Prepare the paper: Choose a suitable paper for gum bichromate printing and size (reduce blotting paper quality ) it with gelatin or another suitable material to prevent the gum from soaking into the fibers of the paper. Prepare the emulsion: Mix gum arabic, a pigment of your choice(I use watercolors ), and potassium dichromate in water to create the light-sensitive emulsion. The proportion of the ingredients depends on the desired color and contrast of the final print. Coat the paper: Apply the emulsion to the prepared paper using a brush, roller, or other tool. You can apply multiple layers of different colors if desired. Expose the print: Place the negative on top of the coated paper and expose it to UV light. The light hardens the emulsion where it is exposed, creating a positive image on the paper. ( A present I use Sun as UV source. Summer !!!!. Building my UV box ) Develop the print: Rinse the print in water to remove the unexposed gum and pigment, leaving behind the hardened gum that forms the final image. This process can take several washes to achieve the desired result. ( This has to be done multiple times to achieve contrast and details. Even colors can be reproduced this way ) Dry the print: Once the print is developed, let it dry completely before framing or storing it. Gum bichromate printing is a complex and time-consuming process that requires careful attention to detail and experimentation to achieve the desired result. The final print has a unique and handcrafted look that is highly valued by many photographers and art collectors. (Lot of variables and takes long time to master the process. I have a long way to go . I have tried different colors, papers and ratios of chemicals so far)

Love it. Many things works for me. Vertical compo. Tones places just right. Choice of BnW. Balance of dark and light areas. A ethereal effect like some descent of god's. Untitled is also ok with me ☺️

Thanks Ganesh and Prashant. Yes i was exploring the faint connection between shadow and origins of written script. Also that for the uninitiated in a particular language all the shapes in the wall are the same. Trivia : Origin of writing systems is 5/6 thousand years back. Written script was invented to keep track of numbers and accounts in trade and exports. In natural history of the earth terms 6K years is a blink of the eye

I like it that both in this and the previous post you have managed to keep he birds small in the frame but retain their significance. IN this case may be I am thinking a little more tone management can highlight the birds better . In any case both are wonderful shots

Thanks all. I had to make a grammatical correction in the title. Someone knows why !!!! ha ha Shankar I had to sadly crop the 4X5 take. The dreaded blank sky syndrome. My earlier attempts to retain some detail in the sky with red filter was a disaster. So avoid sky as far as possible now unless well defined clouds

I like it. There is a sense of depth and BnW works well. May be may be a few secs later the right BG one would have moved away from the OOF ? Improved the compo ? Also those two small plants can be toned down. will help I think. Overall still liked the atmospheric shot
