New Galleries & Guidelines update ..

Postby Nevil Zaveri » Fri Oct 19, 2018 7:48 pm

Recent Update, Oct 19 2018

Dear Friends,
Welcome! to our new CNP site. We have made some changes to posting guidelines and introduced new galleries as well. Below are some short updates.

Creative & Fine Art Nature Photo Gallery :
We have merged Creative Nature Photography & Nature As Fine Art into this new gallery. Here you may upload any Colour or monochrome photographs which are true to the scene, with basic correction of cropping, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, correcting white balance, minor dodging/burning, cloning sensor dust etc. In short, where impact of the content is mainly due to visualization and on-the-field work, as you press the shutter button.

Nature as Photo-Art Gallery :
Colour or monochrome photographs whose visual impact is mainly due to post-processing work. Heavy dodging/burning, selective processing, cloning, blending of layers, multi-exposure, HDR and stitched images may be uploaded in this gallery.

We have specially parted this gallery because apart from software application, lots of gimmicks built-in new Camera n Mobile are causing lots of questions on 'true to the scene' term. We will post few links below for reference n discussion. Yes we know, this is where many of us may have different opinion & the dividing line is free floating! Members are free to decide on their own.
We welcome your thoughts n discussion over this, in below comment box.

Monthly Theme :
We have come up with a new gallery "Monthly Theme", where we will come up with new themes every month and members can post their images that suits the theme. We believe that each individual is different and it will be interesting to see how differently we perceive things. This gallery is specially coined to inspire and motivate members to ‘Search and See’ things, conceptually. Colour or monochrome photographs that justify the respective monthly theme can be uploaded in this gallery. We are excited to see your experiments, your creations. We hope you'll enjoy this new challenge.

Young Photographers’ Gallery :
Space for young photographers, till the age of 22 years; thereafter, they will have to post in above galleries. Guidelines are same as before.

Note : Like before, only one image per 24 hours, per person; irrespective of Gallery to post in.

As always, expecting fresh new vision, enthusiasm n support from all of you :)

Warm Regards,
CNP Team

Thank you very much Samyak, RD, Nirlep n everyone for your warm wishes n ever uplifting support :)

One of the link I was referring above ..
Though this image is from different genre, it is interesting to note where these new camera/mobiles stuffed with built-in processing options n algorithms treating our images .. https://www.thephoblographer.com/2018/09/13/is-this-end-of-in-public-questioning-what-street-photography-really-is/ I am not against anything, in-fact I see lots of possibilities for Photo-Art, if we take these algorithms sincerely! With such a smart software n gears, soon time may come when only photographer can tell 'how much true is the image to the actual scene'?! .. And this is one of the reason why I/we wanted have two different galleries, true to the scene 'Creative Nature n Fine Art' and 'Nature as Photo-Art'.

Regards.
