Very disturbing news

It was very disturbing to read this. However, it is a commendable job by NHM to constitute a team of professionals to thoroughly investigate the complaint.

Shiv, as per the below quote,

We are confident in our rigorous investigation process and the expertise of the five scientists involved, who between them have expertise in mammals, taxidermy, conservation, South American mammals and anteaters,” the NHM tells PetaPixel. “They reached the same conclusion independently after an extensive examination of the evidence, which included several high-resolution photographs taken from different angles.

I am sure the experts had enough evidences to come to this conclusion which we readers don't have (including those high resolution images they have taken from different angles). The pointed differences, I am sure, would have been very obvious ones which the team considered. That said, such revelations are not a good news for anyone, including to NHM. However, the actions like these are necessary so that such incidences don't recur.
