Welcome to CNP Jack.

For my taste buds white froth and relative size of the fish compared to rest of the frame gives it a beautiful context here with eyes going straight over the jumping fish. Personally I would prefer seeing the entire fish. However I would love to know your thought process behind cropping the fish. Thanks for sharing..

Ah! For me this image is made because of its cut head! According to me yours is a brave decision to go like this and trust me I am with you! This piece of image makes me think that I am looking through a small window and the excitement and bit sorrow of missing the complete action because of the size of the width of the window...and I enjoy that! The water current and the placement of the fish are complimenting to each other and for my taste buds you have a very genuine image Jack.
Welcome on board Jack. Welcome to CNP!

Hmm, I'm trying to imagine the cut portion of the image on right. A fish head entering into the frame! that would have been more interesting to me.
Welcome to CNP.

A very interesting image for sure and off the conventionally seen images. I liked it. It has the feel of a mystery movie where the story ends in an abrupt manner :) leaving the viewer asking for more and imagining various possibilities of the outcome. So in my taste its a very good and, as Ashiwini suggested, a very brave execution. Would also love to see the right side of the frame some time as RD pointed out

Hmm, I'm inclined to concur with Ganesh here. I'm unable to convince myself that I like the presence of only the rear half of the fish or the oddball image dimensions. I'd love to see the 'normal' version with the entire fish in a much wider image, for I'm sure that would have immense aesthetic value.

thanks for the comments all, i thought for quite some time over whether to include the whole fish here, in the end i decided on this, i wanted a simple graphic contribution from the fish, i felt that the shape of the hind quarter of the fish with the orange fins was more visually striking than with the inclusion of the head, by inlcuding the head i have an image of a fish and a waterfall, by leaving it out i feel the image has says something more, i will perhaps post the whole thing later if anyone is interested

Jack, Welcome to CNP !
This is the new way of looking into things moving out of the frame. I am a great fan of images with partial appearence of the subjects. Here coloured fish makes sense out of white water.

Welcome to CNP Jack.
Probably as Shankar suggested this is a hints of a new way of seeing - "Going/Looking out of the frame"
The colors of the fish on the foamy water and a unique vertical pano crop really make this image for me.
Liked the one in the forums too where the full fish is presented too.
