Great point Ganesh. We have always been forward looking as photographers. But the advent of the selfie camera has literally flipped a photographers world from what's in front of us to what's behind us. And surprisingly we rely on our arms now to see. What a step change! If we ever have a photo category for "Best Selfie photographer" I would not be surprised to see the winner having 6ft arms
I guess nature photographers are still the old type who still rely on their eyes and... their index fingers!

Ganesh, It's all about perspective and scale of nature around us. Cameras are just miniature tools used for temprarory satisafction to humans by recording the nature, it does not even come close to what eye and soul can see and feel the nature. Nice landscape of the iconing temple.

The urge to portray us using a diminished scale relative to the rest of the elements in Nature is increasing

Yes Ganesh, as a photographer I often feel helpless and just want to be part of what is there and not do anything. At times all our attempts to add drama in a photograph, (or as you said the feeling of custodian,) add our signature style, etc seem too irrelevant, minuscule compared to what is unfolding in front of us, be it a tiger hunting a deer or a small grass silently soaking in morning light or a small spider weaving a web to capture a tiny insect. After all 'nature' surely doesn't think differently about these things and us creating the world's tallest building.
