Deciding to process it in B&W is rather subjective and personally I use it to draw the attention to
the interesting subject when the background or surroundings are distracting.

Beautiful compo here Mahesh and an interesting question. I am yet to figure out how to look at a color image and decide its suitability for B&W. I often try converting and select/reject. That said, I think B&W enables better simplification (or "state space reduction" as I would like to call it) when you to emphasize on only few things. For example if an image dominates in Red, Green and Blue only one of them can be emphasized in channel mixer - which helps in some cases. That apart it is still a mystery for me..

the shades here are quite nice..just wondering if the camel group was not cut at the right it might have been better...but probably the relationship with rest of space might be destroyed...btw did u use a CPL on this ?...
i gen find more contrasty images somehow encourages me to try BnW..even with harsh lights etc
