3 Generations.....
This image to me portrays 3 generations - Old, Youth and the Offspring. The old is symbolized by the dark twig with a couple of dried leaves. The Youth is represented by the greener twig and a solitary leaf while the offspring is the new shoot coming out. The old has not withered and gone to oblivion, but held together by the Youth and at the same time it is also providing a platform for the offspring to come up. This to me symbolizes the way of life. C&C welcome.

Amazing art of nature here, infact I like the way the image lights up selectively. The shade of green is something special and so is the pattern of the leaf

A truly fantastic image Alwan! The light on the image is what makes the image stand apart. The apt sharpness on the leaf is adding a third dimension to the feel and the colors are so beautifully saturated. An excellent image over all. Thanks for sharing it across.

Interesting image Alwan. My view about this photography differs from others who have commented.

1) Positioning of the leaf in the frame is somewhat not just right.
2) Love the veins on the leaf. That makes the image for me.
3) May be if you would have stepped back a couple of feet and placed the leaf at left top strong point, that would have given a lot more impact to the viewer.

Also I see some JPEG artefacts at the bottom of the frame, I guess you can post images here upto 300 KB!

My two cents..

amazing fluorecent green light and overall low key image that pulls out details in light very nicely. very good composition, and can be made great, balancing the lighted parts.

Absolutely beautiful. Very well seen. Lovely lighting & sharpness. A bit better arrangement cud've made the image's impact stronger as Nevil suggested. The hues in the green seem a bit off - seem a bit too 'blueish-green' (especially the stem on right-top-corner).
Nevertheless, a fantastic image.

Thanks everyone for the C&C.

PV,

I do have images where I have it taken from a couple of steps backward but in doing so the angle did not give the necessary impact to capture all the 3 generations, reason being there was a nalla. Stepping into the nalla getting the tripod into a correct position made me go much below the level of the leaf and hence the 3rd generation (new shoot) was not coming out the way I hoped. I will process one of those images and post it in the illustration forum.
Thanks again every one.

Cheers

I like the simplicity and unique lighting in this image Alwan. Nice play if light with just the leaf and part of it is lit. I agree with Nevil's suggestion on balancing the composition further. Thanks for sharing.
