Hmm, what to say, Anders! I like the dyptych arrangement and flowers on the tomb/death bed provided by the nature itself. Very impactful image which grows in many directions. I like your description - "Suddenly there was a loud bang in my kitchen window, and then it was quiet again" a lot. Very subtle and leaving the needed space to ponder over the rest. At the end it made me think how much I love myself, which I guess is the the root of my emotional experiences. Of late, I think there is a beauty in nature's design of death, though an abrupt one also hurts!

A perfect image for this month's theme. Probably this was on a slide? The softer feel of the image below is subtle and adds to the mood.

The arrangement of two images into this dyptch makes this image for me. It makes me so sad that for once, it makes me think that glass should have broken and the bird should have been alive. Strange how we connect to the subject in a frame and wish to go back in the past to change the outcome.

Same thing happened with me recently as I was eating and a bird flew right into a closed window and died ! I was speechless, shocked and heartbroken. I still remember that impact sound. This image rises those emotions and makes me very sad. The impact of this image is huge. Thanks for sharing Anders.

Very effective image, Anders. This dyptych image tells the story effectively. I think individually also these images would've conveyed the story equally as well as effectively as the combined. For me emotionally second image is more touching, it looks like the nature has taken the dove in it's arms(if you can imagine the flowers as arms). And it looks as if in a peaceful sleep.

One of the best from you Anders. Each of the two images is a strong story in itself. The side by side presentation takes it to another level. All the violence in the first that disturbs us is pacified with consolation in the second: the victim at least gets a graceful return to nature. A preferred after death state? or is it all the same ?

oh this works at many levels. The violence of the scene is brought out so well. Great that you had presence of mind to take a picture of the glass pane also . The flowers add sense of poignance at the same time some solace and peace. That window pane is evidence of sudden stoppage of time and space

Very thought provoking and impactful image. Posting just the upper half would have been more mysterious just like your earlier posted photo? This one tells the complete story and process of death btw.

I've come back to this image again Anders. The more I look at the image the more emotional I'm becoming. TFS

Such a strong image Anders! I get mixed feeling looking at the dead bird on a bed of flowers. Its graceful at the same time kind of sad. I have seem similar accidents with none fatal.
If i may suggest, little separation (thin white line) between the two images might help. TFS

Sad story but graceful send off on flower bed by mother nature.. This reminds me of similar incident observed by my son. They were on a school trip in Kerala few years ago when a speeding Emerald dove banged on the glass of his hotel room.

This is so wonderful, wonderful. An image for sure I will remember for a long time.

The dyptich is very nicely arranged. I arranged it many ways in my mind and your arrangement is the best.

The closed eyes tell a lot of stories. As if it is in eternal peace. Or is still have the pain? Who knows. We are constructing the story the way we want.

Second image is so amazing, the earth was ready with the bed of flowers to take her back with her.

A Very powerful image, Anders. We can feel the crash on the window so badly and the second image is just an inevitable outcome. Sad but true. The diptych works very well.
The other members sharing the similar bird hits, one can get 'Feather Friendly' Window stickers/film that acts as perfect deterrent for accidental bird hits.
