Hope this image fits in current theme.

While driving through monotonous terrain of Little Rann of Kutch, nothing is visible for kilometers around except for flat saltpans. In this dry landscape, small water-bodies drive the existence of all life. While driving through here, we came across this nesting site of Lesser Flamingos that was abandoned due to a failure in the monsoons and the subsequent drying up of the marshes. Failed monsoon also means early arrival of salt pan workers near the nesting site. Which is also an added reason for the birds abandoning their nests. There were thousands of eggs sitting atop little mud mounds in this lifeless landscape – a sight that engenders awe and horror at the same time.

Hmm..What to say? An art of disaster! But then Nature is the best judge. A poignant image, Jayesh.

Sensitively spotted and presented. Congrats
My mind goes to the experience of visiting an abandoned flourishing civilization interestingly few hundred kilometers from here. This is a metaphor for that. I am talking about Dholavira. A Flourishing civilization disappeared leaving behind technology, script , culture with no explanation. No one knows why.( Time scales are different. Dholavira/ Indus Valley civilization may have declined over 100 years or more )

Truly a mind boggling visual with a powerful impact. The white dots stretching to the horizon are nothing but frightening.
