Dear Divyarajsinh, you're absolutely right; there is definite softness there and in fact in the entire image, quite possibly as a result of diffraction due to shooting at such a low aperture as F22, the D300 being prone to diffraction from as big an aperture as F11 itself! Soon after I reviewed the image a little after making it, I realised that I had made a mistake by stopping down so severely, but it was too late to go back and try again.
Dear Harsha, I applied several levels of sharpening but beyond a certain amount, only succeeded in introducing harshness to the image due to the reasons explained above, so left it at that.
