Dear Divyarajsinh, you're absolutely right; there is definite softness there and in fact in the entire image, quite possibly as a result of diffraction due to shooting at such a low aperture as F22, the D300 being prone to diffraction from as big an aperture as F11 itself! Soon after I reviewed the image a little after making it, I realised that I had made a mistake by stopping down so severely, but it was too late to go back and try again.

Dear Harsha, I applied several levels of sharpening but beyond a certain amount, only succeeded in introducing harshness to the image due to the reasons explained above, so left it at that.

This is wonderfully executed Sant.I just loved the deep maroon color in the shadows and the way the bright patch is oriented in the frame. A total winner here. Kudos to your seeing and thanks for sharing.

This is verry nice. The details and the gradations are really well defined. I kind of like the deep black bottom and the fact that the leaf is not hitting the border.

I agree with others - details in the shadow region is simply superb. This is the best of your macro series that you made in that trip Santosh. Excellent use of light and shadows. Sometimes, its extremely difficult to express your feeling in words when you encounter a scene/image. Am sure this image will stand high in CNP! Fantastic creation!

Fantastic image and great execution here Santosh. I second others about the amount of details you have managed to render in the shadow region of the frame. This series of macros images by you is phenomenal and this is the best of the lot and my favorite too! Am sure this image will find its 'perfect place' in CNP!!
