Tree Trails
Wanted to make a different image with star trails this time without the usual concentric circles around the Pole star. This tree gave me a nice anchor point for the shot, but no matter how much I had planned the rouge plane was not in my scheme of things bargained for that night. Next time I will have to remember to check the flight schedules too ;)

Thanks for looking

The horizontal streak is indeed undesirable in the otherwise beautiful image. What is the exposure duration? Any idea why stars tend to have different shades from blue to white?

Thanks Arun, this is a 90 min exposure. The different colors of the stars basically indicate the temperature of the stars. Red stars being cooler than yellow stars and yellow stars cooler than Blue ones

beautiful Harsha, amazing execution. love the blue and white streaks.
A little space to the left and right of the tree might help IMO

The horizontal streak notwithstanding, this is a fabulous image. Perhaps a little more room on left and a tad better illuminated tree would have been even nicer.

Excellent image Harsha - I can understand your frustration about the flight May be these are the cases where cloning is ethical (?) :)
Couple of things would have improved this further in my view - first, I would leave a little more space around the tree. As presented it appears a little tight. I **guess** gentle light painting using a blue LED torch light on tree would have added to the frame keeping the mood of the night intact.

I just loved it from the very first day you shared. Brilliant effort, though I would have loved to have the tree lit a bit with a blue LED.
