The Hornbill and the tree
As I stood there looking at that tree,so silent and so beautiful, yet it looked a bit lonely to me, against the grey skies that seemed to understand what it had to say but remained observant in their own way. I wondered how a Hornbill would look in the tree, giving it the companionship it so seemed to need. The clouds must have heard me and the next day there they were...the Hornbill and the tree, waiting just for me. A smile crept up my face and stayed there long enough...The Hornbill and the tree kept each other company...

I share the same feeling like you, Tharangini. In fact I have been wanting to make some images of a hornbill on this particular tree at Adithya's place during several of my past visits. I do have some good number of images. That said this composition looks more pleasing than what I have made so far!

Thank you so much. There was something so magical about this tree that even when I was looking at the tree without the Hornbill, I kept picturing one there. It was a blessing to see the Hornbill there the very next day and I guess I was just at the right place at the right time. That being said, I am sure sure others would also agree when I say we are eager, curious and excited to see your images of this tree with Hornbill. If it is already shared and if I've missed seeing it, please do point me in the right direction, so I can see them. Thanks again.

Regards,
Tharangini

Tharangini, I do have several images of this particular tree and with a hornbill too. Somehow did not like what I made compositionally. I don't remember sharing it anywhere. All are in my hard disk. This composition is pleasing to my eyes due to amount of space you have above it.

This a tree where ganesh wants to make image from the last 2-3 years. So, I dare not to touch the tree both to make images and in any other way ;)

I liked the composition of this image. An image with hornbill sitting perfectly horizontal to the frame may also look good.

Adithya, I was very disappointed that you got rid of that beautiful "Gove Sampige" tree in front of the dinning hall :( Those fallen flowers on the ground were philosophic! Please, please leave all those trees around, as is :) In particular those dead long trees in front of the villa..

Thank you Adithya... I guess the next time I am there I'll have to wait for the Hornbill to bless me again and help me make the composition with Hornbill sitting horizontally too...I've fallen in love with this tree and totally agree with Ganesh Sir, please keep all the trees... :-D Now I am very eager to come and try the composition suggested by you too... :)

Wonderful minimalist compo n on top of everything .. lucky to have the hornbill moment!, Tharangini. I think, little more careful (under)exposure or processing may help have thin branches more intact (less broken edges).
Tfs.

Thank you Nevil. Yes you are right, feel incredibly blessed to have the hornbill moment. The image was clicked underexposed, but I'll definitely revisit the processing and re-look at the thinner branches and how it can be made better. Thanks so much for pointing it out.
