LOL! Laughing about the rating '4' for this image :D... Needs an eye to understand the concept....

I request to the viewers who are giving ratings, Please along with ratings please explain your thoughts behind why you are giving this or that numbers of ratings specially when your are giving low numbers or below '5'...its really important to learn and understand the value of creative photography and rating system.

OR

Please don't give ratings if you are not willing to share your thoughts for the image.

Its humble request to all my friends here...please don't take my words strongly. I'm not against the ratings but It's really looking blind judgment without any words on board....

Cheers, Rahul

Love the simplicity of the image. The tree at the bg adds a lot though I think its position in the frame is not very optimal from composition perspective. I *suspect* a bit more definition would add to the image.

Coming to the rating, Rahul, I think we should not be worrying about it a lot. The definition of it being

"I may not think the image is very creative or I think the image falls in border line."

As I mentioned in one of the earlier reply to your post everyone see the image through their eyes. Does not mean they are right or wrong.
Sometimes we agree what is creative and sometimes we don't. But then I agree with you that low rating substantiated with a valuable
critique is personal hygiene :) Of late people are more forth coming with comments. If we all try to add a line of valuable and honest critique to
others image I think things will improve. This topic of commenting has come up many times in past. Things are improving but lots of scope for improvement. Partly we are to blame for it - since we banned one word easy comments like "wow", "excellent" which does not serve any purpose and other than increasing the "comments count" and feel good about it. But then are we improving as photographers ?

Ganesh, Thank you so much for your thoughts and words on my image. Yes, if I've tried to keep that tree on left or right than it would have generate more impact....True.

'Image Definition' (?) do you mean sharp details in the image? I'm sorry but I sometimes don't understand photographic terms... Actually all my images are taken with S3 IS camera and I don't have High Profile DSLR system so my images looks inferior in quality to others' images here...Moreover I don't know different techniques to take better image in different light conditions or situations. I just click to capture the situation :D

Re: Ratings...Me too doesn't matter about the numbers. I just want viewer write something to let us know Why this images is not considered CREATIVE? So we can improve it...without any words Rating has no value....

Everyone looks and think differently that's why we are Human but I've seen sometimes normal images gets Big ratings and truly deserving images gets normal ratings!!!! This is not GOOD.

As of now I understand viewer is seeing... lighting, textures, angles, closeups, colours, techniques, rule of third etc are only elements of Creative Photography...and just look at the image with outside appearance...none try to read it...what is inside...

Cheers, Rahul

Rahul, normal images to whom ? So is truly deserving. When we say that we are obviously talking about our own scale. Believing our scale is correct is an obvious mistake in this world. What is normal to one might be deserving to the other. Everyone has their own scale and views and rates images based on that which need to be respected.

When I mentioned "definition" yes I did mean sharpness. Every equipment (being it SLR or otherwise) has its own strengths. I think focussing on its strength one can make great memorable images.

none try to read it...what is inside...

That is where sharing a few words about our own interpretation of the image will help. what is inside may not be obvious.

No Ganesh, I'm differ here. Though everyone has their own likes and dislikes and ability to see or judge the concept of image at their own understanding and knowledge but...

when matter comes to judge someone than I personally prefer one should be true and have knowledge of different aspects of composition, elements of nature & its relationship, colours and their effect, moods and their liveliness etc...and many more. If someone don't know this than they should learn it and than they are capable of rate someone's work....because rating should represent truth about the image :)

Though Rating is not looking very important topic and is friendly affair here as all are just enjoying nature in artistic form but it makes lots of difference in learning that's why I wish for some words from viewer of my image when they rate but none is doing this.

That is where sharing a few words about our own interpretation of the image will help. what is inside may not be obvious.

I've deliberately kept my Image Description blank here. I have my own thinking, beliefs & understanding about my image but I wanted to know different views from the viewers about my image because I'm not taking images just for my own pleasure. People who look at my image should feel happy or thoughtful too. This is also great way to learn and see our own image with different perspectives. It's learning with fun :).

To express thoughts & views about an image one must read the image, and as of now I'm receiving very few comments and only from Kaushik & You that's why I've written "none try to read it...what is inside..." :)

But biggest problem is my images are not looking good in appearance ha!ha! :D so hardly anyone notice it :D :D :D May be I don't know strengths of my camera...True :)

I must say BIG thank you to you both for reading my images and share your lovely views about it and sharing different side of it :)

I'm also feeling bad that with my open words & thoughts I'm not looking & sounding friendly here..... LOL!!!! :D. Whatever, I love to speak truth

That's the way of True Friendship.....Harmony in Differences :)

Cheers, Rahul
