Ribbon tails
Starlings in flight are one of my favorite subjects - a joy to look at and the they create mesmerising formations on their own all the time. These Rosy Starlings were flying high one evening and I decided to play with that flock using low shutter speeds and panning along.

A very unique image indeed Ramit ! I am with you on mesmerizing formations they make. I have noticed this at Kaziranga. Couple of things in my mind would have added to this frame. If this were mine I would leave a little more space all around the frame - bit tight for my taste buds. Secondly I think the border (both width and color) does not seem to gel well with the image. I would try a grey border or just a two pixel dark grey border.

Carefully consider the critiques and views here in CNP (or in any photo forum). If you don't agree with others views do stick to your thoughts. Taking every critique is like loosing your own originality and style :)

Thanks for sharing..

Wonderful image this. Yes one can spend a lifetime in capturing the formations of these starlings.
Not sure if you have processing issues on right bottom.
and i like Ganesh's words 'Taking every critique is like loosing your own originality and style ' :)

Hi!

@ Ganesh sir: Thanks for the comments and critique. I must admit that I'm going through a phase where big and bold borders have become almost a perverse obsession for me. This was a wake up call and I will try to fix it in the next images. I would have also liked a bit more space overall, but the birds were just low enough for the top of some really large ficus to come up in the frame which did not go with my taste buds along with some dust on my lens (both showing up on the bottom right) and I cropped them off, as well as tried a bit of cloning - which obviously didn't work that great.

And lovely words, sir. Will keep that in mind!

@RD: Thank you so much :-) Yes, rightly spotted - I hadn't until I tilted my screen a bit and noticed the big round blobs. I had tried cloning out the top of a tree and some dust from that corner, and it obviously did not work out. I'm still to work on PP software for purposes other than sharpening/levels.

This is amazing and title goes so well with the frame. If you had clicked this when the starligs were tightly grouped - it would have gone over the top.
