My journey with CNP has given me many moments to reflect, many points to absorb, and many lessons to learn. In one such fairly deep conversation with a good friend, we were discussing how to make portraits of animals in their environment. And we both had one, similar image in mind. Ever since that seed was planted, i've been restless. This image made that seedling grow a bit, and its inadequacy has made me even more restless - making the quest even more compelling! For what it is worth... the majestic Great Indian Hornbill swooping through the lovely dense moist-deciduous forests of Corbett.

You know dear, I was desperately trying to see this bird :-), but I guess the population is not as much in Dhikala as in Jhirna / Bijrani. Did you make this image in Dhikala zone ? I agree to this image a lot....it touches my heart more than a usual image of a hornbill....keep it going Arati, images can not be always about being good or bad, right or wrong , images convey more than that to the heart, this one surely does it for me......wonderful....

Nilanjanda... very true what you've said about some images "convey more than that to the heart"... very very true.

About where this was made - Bijrani. Having said that, minutes after driving out from Sultan (Dhikala range) we saw a pair of Great INdian Hornbills - a beautiful scape, with them flying from tree to tree over the river bed and beneath the wooded hills. Got lucky on this trip saw a bunch of these magnificent birds.

Thanks again for your lovely words .... the quest continues, the journey continues!
