DESSERT SCAPES
The Sands of time..
windswept contours, sunlit ripples,
fading light casts strong shadows, welcoming the night,
an eagle reminisces,
a day ends...the Thar Dessert.

Hi Neelu,
The picture is as poetic as your words. From the bush to ripples in the sand with its gentle undulations is a recipe complete in itself. The bird does the rest. It creates an illusion about the distance. Looking at the bird I feel I'm seeing something near. Moving on from there towards the right of the frame the slopes seem to stretch farther. I think it is the size of the bird which makes it happen. With this vast a stretch one would imagine the bird form to look substantially smaller than caught here. The actual size and the one I imagine it should've been duels for primacy in my thought. This generates the pull push of near and far in the picture. Browns seem to be your forte and with every take you demonstrate it is.

Hi Neelu, I like the way you have represented this image, especially the bird verses the vastness of the desert and the tones you have created. There is an element of 'quietness' and 'peace' I see in this image too. You could try to crop the bottom 1/4th of the image just to avoid the bushes, I see a different image emerging. This is just a suggestion. Thanks for sharing.

Nirlep, thank you, an image with ur interpretations,i reiterate, takes on a new dimension.
Colour Brown,as you rightly noticed, has found favour with my choice of it as a powerful communication tool, deeply rooted in my beleifs and life experiences, signifying..EARTHY, MOODY, SENSE OF BEING FIRMLY PLANTED AND GROUNDED, SECURITY, IMMOVABLE , NURTURING, INFINITY...
The Size of the Bird... has foxed me completely....must have been Huge.

VIkram, thank you. like your observations.i will try and keep a version of 'crop" as suggested by you. the side lit part of the bush, wangled itself into my decision to retain it as integral part of the image, but i see ur point of veiw.

Very well made image, Neelu! I like the vastness shown in the image. Like the mood of the image as well. TFS
