What a sky. The capture defies analysis of conception. "Depth" reverses the orientation. Wonderful depiction, Raj!

A beautiful abstraction of 'lava and smoke', Ramesh. As depicted, it is seen more a bloom in nature than a force of destruction!

I like the image Adithya! The confusion in the frame is exciting. Profile of the snake adds to it. I also like the 'thought' (or lack of it) approach, and the experimenting you are doing. We all search for frames that we have seen in our mind's eye sometimes but have yet to see them translate in life, and they often lead us to even more interesting frames. Its a restless search. Thanks for sharing

A certain peace dawns upon me when I view images such as this. It is quietude and solitude that surrounds the leaf. It takes one beyond what one sees to what one feels. A beautiful image, Ganesh.

Lovely form of what looks like a burst pod. The tonality brings out the fine details beautifully. Nice one, Raj

Most are aware that shells are translucent. Yet its rare to see them being framed against light, let alone so beautifully. Here the snail is translucent too. It complements. Aesthetically, the image hits a sweet spot - colours, form, symmetries and rings. Thanks for sharing Ganesh :)

A time defying image. Timeless. It can't have been made a hundred years ago but easily spans it. I like the size of the image…, think it adds to the 'distant past' feel. Also appealing is the subject matter - peasants going about their chores and their beautiful 'earth' road, complete with its green verges show harmony and rhythm with natural cycles. Nice image Gaurav! :)

The image would be incomplete without Alice. I think she is a necessary element to this image. Wonderful rendering of light 'caught' in the web, and the light source. Straight line concentricity is metaphysically relatable. Refraction brings colour in a most natural way. Nice one Raj! :)

Wonderful take, Raj… still wondering :) Hi Ganesh, the title is meant to be interpreted in whatever fashion a viewer relates to it. From a viewer's point of reference, it matters little what the artist actually felt, its how the viewer relates to the art and the artist which is relevant to her. Sometimes though an image may require a certain 'orientation'. This image, I felt, should not be limited by that.

An interesting image, Raj. Really like the tree that dominates the frame, specially its branches that somehow seem to be to equivalent to wrinkles that tell upon times seen and gone by.

Yes it was, Ganesh! These are the Alps Vikas, the scale was awesome. This image was made at 60mm which should also give an idea of how close these mountains were. The valleys here are tighter than those of our much mightier himalayas :)

I look upon elephants with great veneration because of what they are. Its due to what I have learned of them through personal experiences, also from those of others - from what has been written about them in the present times and in times gone by. Its no wonder that it could only have been an elephant that would be seen fit to be the head of Parvati's and Shiva's son. The connect of elephant with man is as old as mankind. Cave art testifies to it. Elephants can be so 'human' that it may require a rethink as to what is 'uniquely human' to the exclusion of the elephant. Hunted, tortured, trained, exploited, chained and humiliated in a hundred different ways by us and yet worshipped. That is human. Gentle yet strong, accommodating, remembering and loving including towards humans but fighting for its rights. That is an elephant. Which is more human? The image seeks to capture the essence of the elephant and its relationship with man.

"…not sure why God's creations can't do this": God IS Nature, and Nature is the same God. Man is a part of God's creation, and thats why he connects with Nature in a most elemental way. So elemental that if not conscious of it, he takes it for granted… much as a child does its mother. This perhaps may be the reason why we view nature as simple and beautiful. Its the understanding of it (not that it is fully understood yet) that brings in true appreciation. The form may remain beautiful through this process. Image on the right is but a scribbling of that child - the Mankind. Compared to 4 billion years of Gods 'experimental' evolution and its consequent rendering, its infantile. For the right to look like left it will take a long time, if ever. Thought provoking image and description, Ganesh! Thanks for sharing.

Not just rains, Swapnil! This is Monsoons, and the best of what it brings and chases away. The palpability is wonderfully conveyed.

Thanks so much, Abhishek! Your kind words are heart warming :) Thanks so much, Ganesh. In fact, the impact is supposed to be anything but. Emotions run deep in this image. It was made after an evening meditation when I was on a spiritual high. Incidentally, purple (as in the image) is the colour of the Crown Chakra, which relates to pure thought and spirituality. This may help contextualise :)

Thank you, Ganesh. The 'herd' here is depicted in a non-obvious but relational way… it therefore still remains a herd of elephants :) …sure I did work with tonal adjustments. This one still appealed to me a month on :) cooler tones were too sepulchral. I wanted to convey emotions associated with togetherness, hence warm. I did not see 'weak' as weak in this image but more as maturity, as wisdom, as history; of matriarchy. Thats because elephants herds are matriarchal … which results in they being minded not by the strongest but the wisest

There is a relationship here that calls out to be understood. It is not of the subjects' alone, but of what each represent. The sickle is a work of art with its aesthetic lines, free-flowing curvature and wooden handle. It represents the nobility of an artisan's aspiration. Such beauty cannot be inherently destructive. So while the naturally derived is seen to 'stab' the 'natural', they are not in conflict - man and nature. We still don't fully understand this relationship…the eternal fascination? Like what Ganesh says - We always don't need to be explicit in conveying a message. Leaving some room for viewers often results in memorable images.

Hi Ganesh, the tree has shed leaves with the season. The remaining ones are withering out. To my mind the photograph works as an allegory. The frame seems to depict options.. choices, and the figuring-out of it.. pehaps the title came to mind as it relates to the current situation in my life.. a phase
